Fernando Matía Espada

Fernando Matia is full professor at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. His teaching activities are related with systems engineering and, more precisely, with robotics, control and programming, being author of three textbooks. He has supervised more than 50 final degree projects and has participated in more than 10 innovative education projects, presently being the coordinator of the Innovative Education Group on Automatic Control at UPM.
His research activities are focused on fuzzy control and interactive mobile robots, being author of more than 130 articles in journals, book chapters or conferences, being the editor of the book “Fuzzy Modeling and Control: Theory and Applications”. He is member of the scientific committee of more than 10 international conferences and has participated in 17 research projects.
He has also been Deputy Vice-director of Studies, Vice-director of Quality Management and Vice-director of Studies at the High School of Industrial Engineering from 2006 to 2014, having being involved in the design and implementation of Bachelor and Master degrees, as well as in the ABET accreditation process.
