Rodolfo E. Haber Guerra

Rodolfo Haber (IEEE, IFAC member) received the Ph.D. degree in Industrial Engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Spain, in 1999, also joining the Spanish Council for Scientific Research(CSIC) in 1999. He was  Vice-Director of the Joint Center for Automation and Robotics (CSIC-UPM) until 2019. Since January 2020, he has been appointed Director of the Center for Automation and Robotics of the Spanish Council for Scientific Research (CSIC) and Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM). In particular, he is the principal investigator from CSIC in three European projects related with Artificial Intelligence and Industrial Cyber-physical systems/IIoT: KITT4SME (2020-2024), Power2Power (2019-2022) and PowerizeD (2022-25). He has authored 3 books, 14 patents, 1 trade secret, 21 book chapters, and more than 70 articles in indexed journals and dozens of conference papers (h-index:33 in SCOPUS). He has been co-founder of start-up Kinequo S.L. (2015) and spin-off Xymbot Digital Solutions S.L. (2020). Since 2002, he has belonged to the IFAC’s Technical Committee 3.1 Computers for Control, ASME Technical Committee on Model Identification and Intelligent Systems and IEEE IES Technical Committee on Industrial Cyber-Physical Systems (ICPS). Since 2002, he has been an expert evaluator and Vice-Chair for the European Commission collaborating with various research agencies such as REA and EACEA. He has been associate editor and member of the Editorial Board of journals such as Scientific Reports, Processes, Sensors, Journal of Control Engineering and Applied Informatics, and Computational Intelligence and Neuroscience, among others.
His main research activities are focused on cyber-physical systems, Internet-of-Everything, intelligent systems, modelling, control and supervisory systems, artificial cognitive systems and Industry 5.0.

Rodolfo Haber obtuvo el Ph.D. en Ingeniería Industrial por la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, España, en 1999, incorporándose también al Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC) en esa fecha. Fue Vicedirector del Centro Mixto de Automática y Robótica (CSIC-UPM) (2016-19). En enero de 2020 fue nombrado Director del Centro de Automática y Robótica del Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC) y la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM). En concreto, es investigador principal del CSIC en tres proyectos europeos relacionados con la Inteligencia Artificial y los sistemas Ciberfísicos Industriales/IIoT: KITT4SME (2020-2024), Power2Power (2019-2022) y PowerizeD (2022-25). Es co-autor de 3 libros, 14 patentes, 1 secreto comercial, 21 capítulos de libros, y más de 70 artículos en revistas indexadas y decenas de ponencias en congresos (h-index:33 en SCOPUS). Ha sido co-fundador de las empresas de base tecnológica Kinequo S.L. (2015) y Xymbot Digital Solutions SL (2020). Desde 2002 pertenece al Comité Técnico 3.1 Computadores para Control de IFAC, al Comité Técnico de Identificación de Modelos y Sistemas Inteligentes de ASME y al Comité Técnico de Sistemas Ciberfísicos Industriales (ICPS) de IEEE IES. Desde 2002 ha sido experto evaluador y vicepresidente de la Comisión Europea colaborando con diversas agencias de investigación como REA y EACEA Ha sido editor y miembro del consejo editorial de revistas tales como Scientific Reports, Processes, Sensors, Journal of Control Engineering and Applied Informatics, Computational Intelligence and Neuroscience, entre otros.
