SUREVEG – ROBOT PARA EL CULTIVO EN HILERAS Y RECICLAJE DE RESIDUOS PARA LA PRODUCCIÓN INTESIVA DE VEGETABLES Y EFICIENCIA ENERGÉTICA.

The Sureveg project (“Strip-cropping and recycling of waste for biodiverse and resoURce-Efficient intensive VEGetable production), is a European project developed by a consortium of twelve partners (universities, research centers and companies) from seven European Union countries (Denmark, Holland, Belgium, Italy, Finland, Spain and Latvia), with special attention to strip cultivation and the use of plant residues as soil improvers and fertilizers.

This project is developed under the COFUND modality, the Spanish participation being financed by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.

The Spanish team (CAR CSIC – UPM) aims to develop intelligent robotic systems for this type of row crops, where the alternation of crops requires individualized attention to each plant. For this, robots, sensory and actuation systems and algorithms are integrated for the identification, location and evaluation of the needs of each plant. In this way, it seeks to apply an individualized treatment to each one, mitigating the environmental impact of the inputs.
